An ethical cult is a charitably-minded and values-driven collective of people who coalesce around a shared mission and shared goal of moral and spiritual advancement, often through collective activities such as philanthropy, ethical commitments, and interpersonal practices that develop and sustain trust and connection between members. Ethical cults are generally structured around leadership, particular rituals and structures, and participation in a shared core set of meaningful beliefs and practices.
